Africa is an incredible continent, unsurpassed in it's megafauna and landscapes and home to the San Bushman. To experience the Bushman living a traditional hunter-gatherer lifestyle is to see bushcraft in one of its purist forms.
We are really excited to present this amazing new expedition to Namibia - one of Africa’s most stable and accessible countries. Highlights of the trip will include: driving a 4 x 4 offroad through the desert, visiting the Erongo Mountains, taking a game safari through Etosha National Park and finally to learn bushcraft skills directly from the Bushmen!
This experience takes us into the world of the Kalahari close to the border to Botswana to a group of Ju/'Hoansi Bushmen, who still maintain their old hunter-gatherer culture. They are among the last Bushmen who are still allowed to hunt traditionally.
First we shall visit old Stone Age Rock Paintings in Erongo Mountains, the remainders of the spiritual world of the old hunter-gatherer culture of the San, and then visit the village of the Ju/'Hoansi Bushmen in the Kalahari, situated north of Tsumkwe. This group is maintaining the traditions of the old way and by doing so remembering the immense knowledge of how to live in the harsh Kalahari acquired over thousands of years. In between, we will travel through Etosha National Park, to directly experience the wildlife of Namibia and to learn about their tracks and behaviour.
This is what the official website says about Etosha http://www.etoshanationalpark.co.za/:
